He ventured out into the surf and boarded what he thought was a small enemy submarine that had surfaced just past the breakers.
The absence of his glasses, which he’d removed just before he entered the water, caused him to mistake an ordinary surfboard for a vessel of evil intent.
Atop the surfboard was Perthville’s Heart Surgeon, enjoying a rare moment of solitude out on the water.
Their eyes met as they both stood on the board. Dare we say, the attraction each felt was immediate.
The Surgeon? She assumed this attractive man was coming to save her from the local sharks, or lack thereof, and was flattered.
The General? He was wondering why the commander of a submarine was such an attractive young woman, standing on it and carrying a fashionable bag (he really did need his glasses).
Meanwhile, the General’s troops were wondering why their boss was such a doofus.
A love with beginnings this auspicious can only last forever.
